Squaties FAQ
Our story
Hey! I’m Suzanne. A mum, a wife and a lover of being active. Whether it's in the gym or out running in the bush (or running after our 3 kids!). I'm pretty damn proud to be the owner of Squaties. I absolutely love what we do ❤️
Squaties was created out of pure frustration (I'm sure you can relate). Sick of adjusting my undies in the gym, VPL showing up and wedgies while out running. I've never been able to find great underwear that tick all the boxes - so I decided to design my own!
Creating our new range of Squaties briefs has been an absolute game-changer. Feeling amazing walking into the gym, or heading out for a walk, completely changes how I feel about my workout. All women deserve to feel this way! We all deserve to feel confident and empowered while working out.
Cause no one has time for bad undies!
The Squaties Commitment
Our goal is to create the best workout undies on the market, while also focusing on inclusivity in sizing and enhancing sustainability efforts. We're committed to using safer fabrics and responsibly sourcing materials.
We continue to support women in our community by donating $1 of each sale to New Zealand Women's Refuge.
We’re not just here to make you feel amazing; we’re here to make a positive impact, one booty at a time.
Sizing
Classic & Bikini Briefs:
Our Classic and Bikini Briefs are made in NZ sizing. Most women find that they are true to size. We recommend ordering the (NZ) size you would normally buy in underwear. Some people like to size up, if you're bigger in the booty!
Check out our size chart for reference - Classic & Bikini Size Chart
Originals (Old style)
Our Pink Originals run larger!
Please check the sizing chart carefully. Originals Size Guide
Sizing is XS to 3XL which correlates to NZ sizes 12/14 to 24.

Product care
Caring for your Squaties is super simple! Just be gentle with them and follow these easy-care guidelines to get the longest life out of them:
- Cool delicate wash - preferably using a ‘delicates’ laundry bag.
- Mild detergent - do not soak, bleach or use harsh chemicals.
- Line dry in the shade - do not tumble dry.
- Do not iron - who has time to iron their undies anyway?
Note: the wash label will wear off gradually. This is completely normal.
Manufacturing
Squaties are designed in New Zealand. However, due to the specialised machines required (that we don’t have here in NZ), our manufacturing is done by our awesome offshore manufacturing partner. We chose this company as its values align with our own. Including integrity, innovation and caring for the health and well-being of customers, employees and the environment. Our manufacturers hold the following certifications to ensure the safety of the fabrics they use and the safety and well-being of their employees, which is very important to us!
- BSCI Certification (Business Social Compliance Initiative)
- OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 Certification
Whilst manufacturing is undertaken offshore, we aim to use local companies for all other supplies and services. With a focus on keeping it local as much as we can.
Sustainability
We are a small company, with a big heart and a passion for the environment and for the world we are leaving our future generations. We are constantly looking for ways to reduce our impact on the environment and how we can support our local community here in New Zealand. We don’t have all the solutions yet, but we are consciously working towards sustainability goals and trying to get it right.
- Manufacturing - We manufacture in small orders, to prevent wasted stock. We choose our manufacturing partners carefully, making sure their values align with our own. We donate our sample and faulty stock (that are still great undies! Just with a misprint or mark) to local charities for women. This helps to prevent stock from going to landfill and gives back to our community.
- Fabric – All our fabrics are free from harmful chemicals and independently certified by OEKO-TEX. We have a goal of having all our underwear made from recycled and sustainable fabrics in the near future.
- Packaging and posting – We only use 100% home compostable courier bags. We have kept product packaging to a minimum, whilst also keeping your Squaties safe, by using a handy reusable zip-lock bag.
*Zip Lock Packaging - Please keep and re-use your zip-lock bag. Great for taking a spare pair of Squaties to the gym. Once you no longer have any use for it, simply snip off the zip lock seal and place it with your soft plastics recycling, so it can become a farm post! Find out more at: www.recycling.kiwi.nz
We give back
For every pair of Squaties we sell, we pledge to donate $1 to New Zealand Women's Refuge, to help women and children in need.
Being able to give back in some way is super important to us, both as a business and personally, so this is just the beginning.
We also donate our sample products and seconds (that are still great underwear, but perhaps the incorrect colour/shape, or have minor defects) to various charity organisations around New Zealand.
As we grow we will be on the lookout for more ways to offer our support to women in our community.
